Nepal is second richest country in water resources. No wonder, fishing is a popular activity among select few tourists visiting Nepal. The good thing about fishing is that it can be organized any time of the year and in any part of Nepal. Nepal is famous for freshwater fishing. Nepal is a good destination for fishing you prefer to fish in regions which is far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, in the solitude of nature where fresh and clear streams run.
Trisuli, Kali Gandaki, Koshi, Budi Gandaki, Netrawati Akhu Khola, Bhote Koshi, Indrawati, Sun Koshi are some of the major rivers where you can do fishing. Besides Pokhara has plenty of lakes where fishing is allowed and where varieties of fish can be found. Begnas, Rupa and Phewa lakes are among the most popular ones.
Hundreds of fishes are found in Nepalese river. Among them Masheer, Eel, Carp, Dwarf Goonch, Catfish, Snakehead, River cat, Barb, Rohu, Spiny Carp, Trout, Corsula, Garfish are some of the common fishes found in Nepalese rivers, streams, lakes and ponds.
Fishing expedition ranges from 1 to 5 days in duration. You either go fishing alone or join a larger group. Special arrangements will be made for fishing group. You will stay at tents after fishing at night. We will provide you rod and reel and even fishing nets or you can bring along with you if you have one.
We will provide you with tents and guide who have expertise in fishes. If you wish, we can organize fishing expedition with local fishing communities such as Majhi, Magars and Tharus.
