Langtang Trekking is located in the central part of Nepal quite near to Kathmandu and close to Tibet. It is one of the most easily accessible and easy Himalayan treks in Nepal. Langtang region is famous for the Red Panda, Rhododendrons, Langtang Himalayan ranges, glaciers, and the Buddhist culture and heritage of Tamang and Tibetan communities. The culture of Tamang and the Tibetan community possess a common linkage to Tibet.
Langtang has all the features and attractions that any world-class trekking trail commands. But what makes it so different and unique is that thankfully it is one of the least explored and visited trekking areas in Nepal. It has become famous ever since the British mountaineer Bill Tilman described it as the most beautiful valley in the world.
Langtang Valley is also known as the treasure house of Alpine plants and is one of the true wild outback of Nepal. The whole valley is carpeted with an array of beautiful flowers during the summer, a specter that should never be missed. The region is full of pristine forests in the likes of oak, hemlock, fir, and rhododendron and gorge-like valleys which are all part of Langtang National Park, one of the oldest national parks in Nepal. The park is home to a score of endangered species including Himalayan Tahr, Red Panda, and Snow Leopard.
A trek to Langtang will allow experience the pristine nature, beautiful culture, and majestic Himalayas. Our journey begins with a drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche, the head district of Langtang, and from there to Syabrubesi, You will be able to appreciate the unique culture and lifestyle Tamang community who have close cultural and social affinity with Tibetans.
Along the trail, we will visit Kyanjin Gompa (3870m) which offers spectacular close-up views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers of Langtang Lirung (7246m), Kimshung (6781m), and Langshisha Ri(6370m). The trail passes through Tamang villages across high alpine pastures, glaciers, and peaks. One of the most important features of the Lantang region is its abundant snow glaciers. It is one of the richest regions in Nepal for glaciers, as it is home to as many as 70 glacier basins. These glaciers are an integral part of the Langtang Himalayan ranges. Further, the trekking trails offer up-close and personal views of high peaks such as Shisapangma and Langtang.
